Literally: 'Green'-colored. Khizr is a symbol of eternal life, immortality, and luck. According to legend, it is the name of the mythical prophet who found and drank from the spring of the water of life; therefore, he is considered forever immortal. He is seen as a guide who shows the way to those who are lost and to lovers. Khidir also carries the meanings of pure, clean, and veiled (masked).
