The history of the first name

While we all know the first man and woman were Adam and Eve, archaeologists have discovered fascinating facts about the real names of ancient people. For example, an unusual tablet found in Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq) served as a payment receipt for barley. It contained notches and markings and was written by an accountant named Kushim. The oldest recorded name in official documents is Neithhotep, a queen of Egypt who lived in the 31st century BC. Her name was found inscribed on a shard of an ancient vase.
