Abdulaziz Komilov was born in 1947 in Yangiyoʻl. He is an Uzbek politician who has served since 2012. In 1972, he graduated from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR. In 1978-80, he studied at the Department of Oriental Studies at the USSR Academy of Sciences. Komilov is a candidate of historical sciences.
Komilov worked as an attache at the Soviet Embassy in Lebanon from 1973-1976. From 1980-1984, he worked as a second secretary at the Soviet Embassy in Syria. From 1984-1988, he worked in the Middle East Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Uzbek SSR.
From 1988-1991, he worked at the Department of World Economy and International Relations of the USSR Academy of Sciences. From 1991-1992, he served as an advisor to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation. From 1992-1994, he served as Deputy Minister of National Security of Uzbekistan.
In 1994, Komilov was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan. From 1998-2003, he taught at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. In 2003, Sodiq Safoyev was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs in Komilov's place. Following this, Komilov began working as an advisor to the President of Uzbekistan on foreign affairs.
In 2003, Komilov was appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the USA and Canada. In 2008, Komilov also began serving as the country's ambassador to Brazil. In 2010, he began working as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. By 2012, he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Komilov has been awarded the „Mehnat shuhrati“, „Doʻstlik“, „Oʻzbekiston belgisi“ and „20 years of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan“ state awards.
