Biography
Abduqahhor Ibrohimov occupies a worthy place in the contemporary literary movement as a writer, playwright, and publicist.
He was born on August 16, 1939, in the Kokcha district of Tashkent.
After graduating from secondary school in 1957, Abduqahhor studied at the Faculty of Journalism of Tashkent State University from 1957 to 1962. He studied at the Higher Literature Course in Moscow from 1975 to 1977. He worked at the newspaper "O'zbekiston Madaniyati" and later at the "Guliston" magazine between 1982 and 1986.
He served as editor-in-chief at the Art Affairs Department under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of the Republic, and as an advisor in the Office of the President of the Republic from 1990 to 1993. Since 1994, he has been working at the Republican "Ma'naviyat va Ma'rifat" (Spirituality and Enlightenment) center.
Activities
Abduqahhor's creative work began in the 60s. The writer's books such as "Qoya ostida", "Tusmol", "So'nggi nur", "Osmon yaqin, yer yumshoq", "Birinchi bo'sa", and "Til - taqdir demak" have been published. In them, the fate of the era and contemporaries, problems of language and values, literature and culture, and philosophical reflections on independence and the future occupy a central place.
Abduqahhor Ibrohimov is better known to the nation as a playwright. His comedies such as "Arra", "Meni aytdi demang", "Zo'ldir", "Bir o'likka bir tirik", "Bu zamon o'g'loni", "Tusmol", "Sochqi", "Mayli, mayli", "Ofarin", "Puch", and "Shayton yo'li" have been staged in theaters in Tashkent and the regions. Some of them have also been performed on the stages of theaters in Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan. The writer's work as a publicist is also worthy of note.
