A well-known Uzbek singer and opera soloist, Boborahim Mirzayev was born in Margilan in 1907. After returning from his studies at the Moscow Uzbek Opera Studio in 1926, he worked as a singer in the Uzbek State Concert-Ethnographic Troupe from 1926 to 1929, an actor at the Uzbek State Musical Theater from 1929 to 1939, an actor at the Opera and Ballet Theater named after Alisher Navoi from 1939 to 1949, and as a soloist at the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan from 1949 to 1955.
A productive and versatile artist, B. Mirzayev created dozens of realistic and full-blooded characters in musical dramas and operas, making a worthy contribution to the development of Uzbek opera art.
Between 1929 and 1944, B. Mirzayev performed with great skill in musical dramas, including the roles of Asqar in U. Hojibekov's "Arshin Mal Alan", Ne'mat in G. Zafariy's "Halima", Farhod in Khurshid and V. Uspenskiy's "Farhad and Shirin", Qodir in K. Yashin, M. Muhamedov, and V. Glier's "Gulsara", and in operas such as Er Targ'in and Kojakh in Ye. Brusilovskiy's "Er Targ'in", Hasanxon in A. Magomayev's "Nargiz", Knyazev in S. Vasilenko and M. Ashrafi's "Buran", and Escamillo in G. Bizet's "Carmen".
Uzbek classic and maqom songs held a firm place in B. Mirzayev's repertoire; classic songs he sang such as "Tanovar", "Dugoh", "Chorgoh-2-3-4", and "Bayot" have not lost their value and continue to provide aesthetic pleasure to art lovers.
B. Mirzayev's creative work was duly recognized, and in 1942 he was awarded the title of "People's Artist of Uzbekistan".
Boborahim Mirzayev passed away in Tashkent in 1957.
