Dilbar G‘ulomovna

Dilbar Gulamovna Abdurakhmanova (Latin: Abdurahmonova Dilbar Gʻulomovna; May 1, 1936, Moscow) is a Soviet and Uzbek conductor, violinist, and educator. People's Artist of the USSR (1977). She is the first female conductor in Uzbekistan.

Dilbar Abdurakhmanova was born in Moscow on May 1, 1936.

From 1948 to 1955, she studied violin at the Tashkent Music School named after R. Gliere (now the Republican Specialized Academic Music Lyceum named after R. Gliere) (at the same time, she studied at the 110th specialized mathematics school). She graduated from the Tashkent State Conservatory (now the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan) in 1959 under B. Titelya in violin, and from the opera-symphony conducting department (class of M. Ashrafi) in 1960.

While studying, from 1957 to 1960, she was a violinist in the orchestra of the State Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. Navoi (State Academic Bolshoi Theater named after A. Navoi).

In 1957, as a student conductor, she participated in the World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow.

In 1960, she became a conductor at the State Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. Navoi, from 1974 to 1990 she served as principal conductor and artistic director, and currently, she is a conductor-producer.

Starting in 1959, she participated in decades of Uzbek art and culture abroad. She has been on tours in cities of the USSR, as well as in Egypt (1966), Germany, Romania, Thailand, and Singapore.

In 1982, she graduated from the correspondence department of Theater Economy and Planning at the Tashkent Theater and Arts Institute named after A.N. Ostrovsky (now the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan).

She teaches opera performance at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan (professor).

She was a member of the CPSU in 1965.

Father - Gulam Abdurakhmanov (1910-1987), opera singer, People's Artist of the Uzbek SSR (1950).

Mother - Zuhra Fayzieva, opera singer.

Husband - Utkir Abdullaevich Shomurodov (1934), engineer.

Daughters - Lola and Rano.
