Ma'murjon Uzoqov is a sweet-voiced singer and a people's hafiz. He fell in love with singing very early on, and first learned the art of singing from hafiz Mamatbobo and Boltaboy, learned to play the dutar and sing yalla from Hasan Qori, studied complex performance styles, the unique difficulties, and subtle secrets of singing major ashulas, and for many years worked effectively, singing alongside great hafizs.

The sweet-voiced singer and people's hafiz Ma'murjon Uzoqov was born in 1904 in Margilan.

Between 1922 and 1925, he sang many classical, folk, and modern songs with the hafiz Khudoybergan, between 1926 and 1932 with Hasan Qori, and between 1933 and 1962 with Jorakhon Sultonov.

Uzoqov initially participated in concerts held in "teahouses", worked as a singer at the Margilan theater in the 30s, and after finding his place in singing, he came to Tashkent and worked as an artist and singer at the Muqimi Theater between 1940 and 1950, and also played roles in some major plays.

The role of Tohir in the play "Tohir and Zuhra" by Abdulla and T. Jalilov is among these. However, M. Uzoqov was recognized as a people's hafiz; he was an artist born not for the stage, but for the song.

Between 1952 and 1962, he worked as a singer at Uzbekistan Radio and as a soloist at the Uzbekistan State Variety Orchestra, participating in major cultural events in our Republic and abroad.

Songs sung with poems by Muqimi, Furqat, Hamza, Habibiy, and S. Abdulla took a firm place in his repertoire. In particular, fans of the song listened with delight and received aesthetic pleasure from folk songs, major ashulas, and yallas such as "Ko'zlaring", "Sayding qo'yaber sayyod", "Keldim", "Shaydo bo'libman", "Mustahzod", "Sho'x jononim mening", "Nasihat", "Parvo etib ket", "Ayrilmasin", "Ko'zim shahloga tushdi", "Qachon bo'lg'aykim", "Tomon keladur", and "Dog'man".

Also, rare songs such as "Yakka bu Farg'onada", "Surating" (Muqimi), "Nur istab", "Qachon bo'lg'aykim" (Furqat), and "Bir kelib ketsun" (Hamza), for which M. Mirzayev composed the music, also occupy an important place in his creative work.

Uzoqov's creative labor was duly rewarded.

In 1939, he was given the title of "People's Hafiz of Uzbekistan". He passed away in 1963 in Margilan while singing.

Many hafizs and singers are continuing his traditions in singing folk songs, yallas, and especially in singing the major ashula.

On the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, M. Uzoqov was awarded the "For Great Services" order for his immense contribution to the development of Uzbek national culture.
