Otabek Mutalkhojayev was born on July 18, 1984, in Tashkent to a family of artists. After school, he graduated from the "Oil and Gas" faculty of the Tashkent State Technical University. Otabek Mutalkhojayev's grandfather was Fayzulla Mutalkhojayev, a performer of Uzbek classical maqom songs. Taking his young grandson in his arms, Fayzulla ota Mutalkhojayev was able to teach Otabek the secrets of singing even when he was at kindergarten age.
We can say that the singer began his career in 2004. His hit tracks are the songs "Khazon" (Autumn), "Sevar Yorim" (My Beloved), and "Netayin" (What shall I do). To date, the singer has more than 35 songs, over 20 video clips, and 2 albums titled "Khazon" and "Boriga Baraka" (Blessing for what you have).
In 2006, dedicated to the "New Year" holiday, he was the lead actor in the musical film "Adventures of Aladdin." In addition, he was the lead actor in director Dilmurod Mirkhidoyev's films "Lola," "Sehli Uzuk" (Magic Ring), Melis Abzalov's "Sirli Sirtmoq" (Mysterious Noose), and Tal'at Mansurov's "Madina." In 2007, Otabek Mutalkhojayev was a winner of the "Nihol" award. In 2009, he was a nominee for "Best Male Singer of the Year" at the M&TVA AWARDS presentation. Also that same year, he held his "Sevar Yorim" concert program at the "Istiqlol" Palace of Arts, and in 2008, he was a participant in the Fond Forum's "Biz bir jamoamiz" (We are one team) project.
The singer continues to perform at concert tours across all regions of Uzbekistan, as well as charity concert programs at orphanages, homes for disabled children, and nursing homes. The singer is working in collaboration with composers Dilshod Mahkamov and Farruh Badalboyev, and poets Dilshod Mahkamov, Bobur Bobomurod, and Muhammad Ismail. As for the singer's hobbies, he is very interested in swimming and skiing among sports types. In his spare time from creativity, he studies world cinematography and world estrada, and never skips bowling.
