The doira player Qahramon Dadayev was born in Tashkent in 1936. Ever since the M. Turgunboyeva Honored State «Bahor» Dance Ensemble was formed (in 1954), Q. Dadayev has served as a soloist doira player in this creative team.
Q. Dadayev began playing the doira very early, while attending a music club in the 1950s. Even before joining the «Bahor» dance ensemble, he was already known to many as a good doira player and had garnered a certain level of attention. For this reason, the 18-year-old youth was quickly hired as a doira player by the «Bahor» ensemble.
Q. Dadayev thoroughly studied the styles of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Fergana and performed them to perfection. When he plays dozens of melodies such as «Larzon», «Pilla», «Uchrashuv», «Havaskor», «Cholpon», and «Zang» on the doira, the audience feels excitement, finds pleasure, experiences comfort, and rejoices.
He plays various melodies on the doira with such excitement and passion that it is impossible to remain indifferent to his mastery. With this quality, he was recognized as a peerless doira player of our time and earned applause and respect. Q. Dadayev actively participated in the Decades of Uzbek Literature and Art in Moscow several times, and in the Days of Uzbek Art held in neighboring republics, gaining fame as a skillful and talented doira player.
Between 1955 and 1994, the artist traveled on creative tours with the masters of Uzbek art and the «Bahor» ensemble to countries such as the USA, Japan, Canada, China, Iraq, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Italy, Malta, Guinea, Angola, Mozambique, Tunisia, North Korea, Germany, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Yugoslavia, Turkey, Laos, Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Cuba, Greece, England, Scotland, Uruguay, Brazil, Malaysia, Belgium, Vietnam, Portugal, and Dakar, playing magnificent national melodies on the doira and introducing rare masterpieces of Uzbek music and dance art to world audiences.
