Roziya Karimova was an Uzbek ballet actress, dancer, ballet master, and choreographer. She was not only a talented dancer but also a skilled teacher and a major researcher who seriously engaged in the theoretical and practical issues of dance art. In recognition of these services, she was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Art History during the years of independence. Roziya Karimova is a recipient of the title "People's Artist of Uzbekistan," the State Prize of Uzbekistan, the Mukarrama Turg'unboeva Award, and the "El-yurt hurmati" order.

Uzbek ballet actress, dancer, ballet master, and choreographer Roziya Karimova was born in 1916 in Kazan.
Having been educated at the studio of the Uzbek State Musical Drama Theater in Samarkand, she began her career at this theater in 1930 and performed dramatic roles alongside lyrical dances.

Images such as Anorxon (Q. Yashin, "O'rtoqlar," 1932), Asal (K. Yashin, "Gulsara," 1935), and Osiyo (U. Hojibekov, "Arshin mol olon," 1936) were the first products of the actress's work.
Following that, from 1934 to 1949 at the musical theater in Tashkent, and from 1949 to 1953 at the Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. Navoiy, she performed parts such as Gulandom (Ye. Brusilovskiy, "Gulandom"), Oqbilak (S. Vasilenko, "Oqbilak"), Fraskita (J. Bizet, "Carmen"), and Kumush (M. Ashrafiy, S. Vasilenko, "Bo'ron"), and staged dances in opera works such as "O'rtoqlar," "Bo'ron," "Gulsara," "Ulug'bek," "Farhod va Shirin," and "Layli va Majnun," and performed solo dances in them herself.

She also staged dances for the opera "O'rtoqlar" by K. Yashin at the Almaty Theater. As a ballet master at the Uzbek State Musical Drama and Comedy Theater named after Muqimiy, and as a soloist at the same theater from 1935 to 1960, she staged dances for "Nurxon," "Farhod va Shirin," "Ravshan va Zulxumor," "Tohir va Zuhra," "Oftobxon," "Oq nilufar," "Zafar," and a number of other spectacles, and skillfully performed solo dances in them.

R. Karimova was a person of great talent who also danced national dances such as "Andijon samosi" (yalla), "Katta o'yin," "Gul o'yin," and "Safti ufori" with extremely delicate taste and elegance.

As part of the women's ensemble led by Gavhar Rahimova, she served in Iran in 1942 and on the Northwestern fronts in 1943. She was not only a talented dancer but also a skilled teacher and a major researcher who seriously engaged in the theoretical and practical issues of dance art.

As a teacher at the Uzbekistan State School of Choreography from 1932, and as a scientific researcher at the Hamza Institute of Art Studies from 1964, she conducted scientific research on important issues of Uzbek dance art, created over ten books and manuals such as "Farg'ona raqslari," "Buxoro raqslari," "Robiya Otajonova raqslari," "Bahor ansambli raqslari," "Doira zarblariga mashg'ulot," and "O'zbekiston raqslari," wrote many articles, and contributed worthily to the honorable task of training many dancers.

Bernora Qorieva, Ra'no Nizomova, Ibrohim Yusupov, Dilafro'z Jabborova, Shokir Ahmedov, Dilbar Abdullaeva, Karima Uzoqova, Sivilya Tangurieva, Inna Kirkova, Muhabbat Abdullaeva, and Qodir Mo'minov are among her students.

In recognition of these services, she was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Art History during the years of independence.
Roziya Karimova is a recipient of the title "People's Artist of Uzbekistan" (1950), the State Prize of Uzbekistan (1983), and the Mukarrama Turg'unboeva Award (1994).
Also, in 1998, she was awarded the "El-yurt hurmati" order.
