Ahmedova Shahrizoda Farhodovna was born on April 28, 1985, in the city of Kokand, Fergana region, into a family of intellectuals. She is Uzbek by nationality and holds a specialized secondary education. The singer's family is large: her parents, an older brother, two older sisters, and Shahrizoda (Kaniza), who is the spoiled youngest child of her parents. In 1992, Shahrizoda began the 1st grade at secondary school No. 21 in Kokand and completed the 9th grade there in 2001.

In 2001, she entered the Faculty of National Costume Design at the Republican Art College named after Benkov in Tashkent and received her diploma as a fashion designer in 2004.

After finishing her studies, she developed an interest in music and has been performing as a solo artist since 2006. She chose her stage name "Kaniza" after her grandmother, Kanizaxon, who was the wife of her grandfather, the People's Artist of Uzbekistan, Murodjon Ahmedov. "Kaniza" is a Tajik name meaning a brave, courageous, and lively girl. Since 2007, she has been working as the head of the youth group at the Uzbekistan Youth Creative House. In 2009, she was awarded the "Nihol" prize, established by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for young talents.

In addition, she has tried her hand at acting, playing the role of a girl named Farangiz in the musical film "Sehrli Uzuk" (The Magic Ring).
