Sirojiddin Sayyid is a talented and inquisitive poet. He is notable for the novelty and depth of his thought, as well as being a poet of the human spirit. In his poetry, the simple and concise expression characteristic of folk oral literature harmonizes with the melodies of our classical literature. In 2006, he was awarded the title of «People's Poet of Uzbekistan».
Sirojiddin Sayyid was born in 1958 in the village of Kundajuvoz, Sariosiyo District, Surkhandarya Region, into a family where storytelling and epic recitation were traditional.
To date, a number of Sirojiddin's poetry collections have been published, such as «Ruhim xaritasi» (Map of My Soul), «Salqin xarsanglar kaftida» (In the Palm of Cool Boulders), «Sevgi mamlakati» (Land of Love), «Asragil» (Protect), «Mehr qolur, muhabbat qolur» (Kindness Remains, Love Remains), «Kuydim» (I Burned), and «Vatanni o‘rganish» (Studying the Homeland). While his first poem, «Orzu» (Dream), was published in 1975, his first collection, «Ruhim xaritasi», was printed in 1985. Sirojiddin Sayyid is an ever-vigilant poet. He is aware of the changes and renewals occurring in the world and his village, as well as in the hearts of his contemporaries, friends, and loved ones.
Viewed from this aspect, the beautiful and sorrowful feelings that began to bloom in the «Kuydim» (1994) collection have deepened further in the poems included in the poet's «Vatanni o‘rganish» (1996) collection.
Sirojiddin Sayyid's feelings about his motherland have acquired a new light and a new spirit. In his poetry collections «Vatan abadiy» (The Homeland is Eternal, 2001), «Ustimizdan o‘tgan oylar» (The Months That Passed Over Us, 2003), «Ko‘ksimdagi zangorlarim» (My Blues in My Chest, 2005), and «Qaldirg‘ochlarga ber, ayvonlaringni» (Give Your Verandas to the Swallows, 2006), the simple and concise expression characteristic of folk oral literature in Sirojiddin Sayyid's poetry harmonizes with the melodies of our classical literature.
