A skilled short story writer, novella writer, and novelist, Tohir Malik was awarded the high title of «People's Writer of Uzbekistan» in 2000. In 1994, a telefilm was produced based on the author's novella «The Last Bullet». Tohir Malik (Tohir Hobilov) was born in 1946 in Tashkent into an intellectual family. He served as a literary staff member, executive secretary, and editor-in-chief at the Republican Radio and Television Committee, the «Yulduzcha» publishing house, and the magazines «Guliston», «Sharq Yulduzi», and «Yoshlik», as well as a secretary at the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan.
The author's creative career has been recognized with government awards and various literary prizes. In 2000, by decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, he was granted the title of "People's Writer of Uzbekistan".
In his later years, Tohir Malik gained fame as a novelist. His adventure-detective novel «Shaytanat» (Book I, 1992; Book II, 1995; Book III, 1997; Book IV, 2000) attracted the attention of discerning readers and the literary community due to its moral and ethical dilemmas. The author also wrote a novella titled «Yov» (1995).
The writer's book «Guest Feelings» (2003) also leaves readers moved. It is driven by a spirit that calls for sensitivity, understanding life, appreciating people, and valuing the life granted by Allah.
