Biography
Uchqun Nazarov is also an Honored Artist of Uzbekistan. Uchqun Nazarov is a multifaceted creative figure. He is a writer, film dramaturg, and film director, born in the city of Tashkent in 1934. After finishing secondary school, he studied in the directing department of the Tashkent Theater and Arts Institute.
He began his professional career as the chief director of the Drama Theater named after Hamza in the city of Kokand, and later engaged in film directing.
No matter in what genre or on what topic the artist writes a work, he always calls for exalting humanity, preserving the kindness, loyalty, and empathy among people, and for being charitable and merciful toward one another. His book of novellas and short stories, «Yong‘in» (1996), stands out specifically for posing moral and spiritual problems even more pointedly and sharply.
The beginning of the writer's work dates back to the 60s. He first became known to readers with his short story «Odamlar» (1961). The great writer Abdulla Qahhor had included this short story by Uchqun Nazarov, along with O‘lmas Umarbekov's short story «Boboyong‘oq», among the best works of young people in those years.
Since then, U. Nazarov's collections of short stories and novellas such as «G‘urur» (1965), «Jur’at» (1977), and «Sadoqat» (1965) have been published. His last major work, the novel «Chayon Yili», was also warmly received by readers.

He is also working fruitfully as a film director and screenwriter. His feature films such as «Surayyo», «Qiz va Yigit», «Shiddat», and «Alangali Sohil» have won the attention of viewers.
