Umida Mirhamidova was born on March 2, 1974, in the village of Changchi in the Parkent district, into the family of the artist Mirsobit Mirhamidov. While attending school, Umida Mirhamidova became interested in singing and attended singing clubs at district creative centers. She actively participated in competitions held between schools and the district, winning honorable places.

The singer graduated from school in 1989 and enrolled in the Yunus Rajabiy Music College in the capital. After graduating from the college in 1991, she began working as a choir singer at the Muqimiy Theater. The singer had a strong passion for singing, so she became a student of singer Zulayho Boyxonova to learn the secrets of vocal performance.

Umida Mirhamidova began her career in the pop genre in 1997 with the song «Sayrang bulbulim». This song became Umida Mirhamidova's hit track. The songs «Ey nozanin», performed in 1994, and «Oq atir gullar», performed in 2000, also earned spots among the singer's hits. To date, several musical collections of the singer have been presented to the public. In 1999, Umida Mirhamidova presented her concert program titled «Mexmonim bo'ling» to her fans at the «Xalqlar do'stligi» Palace of Arts.
