Talented writer, skilled translator, and author Xayriddin Sultonov has made a worthy contribution to the development of contemporary Uzbek prose. A feature film was created based on the writer's screenplay «The Only Memory of Summer». He holds a responsible position in the Office of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Biography
He was born on January 18, 1956, in the village of Tuzel, Kibray District, Tashkent Region. In 1963-1973, he studied at a school in Parkent village and graduated successfully.
In 1973-1978, he studied at the Faculty of Journalism of Tashkent State University.
His professional career began in the 80s, working initially at magazines such as «Guliston» (1974-1980), «Yoshlik» (1982-1985), and at the G'afur G'ulom Literature and Art Publishing House (1980-1982, 1985-1993).
Since 1993, he has been working in a responsible position at the Office of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Xayriddin Sultonov is not only a talented writer but also a skilled translator. Specifically, he has translated works by authors such as A. de Saint-Exupéry, Y. Nagibin, and V. Shukshin into the Uzbek language.
A feature film of the same name was created based on the writer's screenplay «The Only Memory of Summer».
Activity
Xayriddin Sultonov's creative work began in the second half of the 70s. The author's prose books such as «The Sun is Equal for All» (1980), «A Tale of One Evening» (1983), «My Mother's Land» (1987), «And Life Goes On» (1988), «Babur's Dreams» (1992), «Baburnama» (1997), and «Shore of Happiness» (2005) are well known to the general reading public.
He is also the author of screenplays for video films such as «Hook», «A Page from the Past», and «Scorpion from the Altar», as well as feature films like «I Cry Seeing in My Dreams». He wrote the drama «On the Banks of the Sarhovuz» (1992).
