Theater and film actor Yodgor Sa'diyev was born in Tashkent in 1946. In 1971, he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Theater and Fine Arts (now the "Theater and Film Actor" faculty of the M. Uygur Tashkent State Institute of Art) and was hired that same year by the Hamza Academic Drama Theater.
Initially playing episodic roles at the venerable theater, Yo. Sa'diyev, having gained considerable self-confidence, later performed more than 60 roles, including Karl Moor (Schiller, "The Robbers"), Kochkaryov (Gogol, "Marriage"), G'ofur (Hamza, "The Boy and the Servant"), Storyteller ("The Snow Queen"), Badiuzzamon (Uyg'un and I. Sultan, "Alisher Navoi"), Bobur (P. Qodirov, "Starry Nights"), and Ma'mur (S. Ahmad, "Uprising of the Brides").
Having created several memorable, perfect images in theater, Yo. Sa'diyev, who began to be recognized by many, was also invited to film. He played roles in films shot at "Uzbekfilm," such as Abdusalom in "Dilbarim," Sheikh Jafar in "The Invincible," Tagay in "Jora Ovchi," Dada Bori in "Armon," Mayor Mitsumi in "The Manjur Variant" (Kazakhfilm), Olimjon in "13 Terak Street" (Dovzhenko Film Studio), and one of the lead roles in the film "Red Sands."
Television played an immense role in Yo. Sa'diyev becoming well-known to the audience. The characters Yoldosh and Orinboy in the television theater plays "Girdob" and "Ichkuyov" gave the actor a great creative breakthrough. In "Girdob," Yoldosh, the nephew of the well-known scientist Muhiddin Jabborovich, is portrayed as a man who understands human life as consisting only of joys and who will stop at nothing to lead a superficial life. He sets his sights on the wife of Aziz Qosimov, a young scientist who is facing major obstacles on this arduous path to realizing his long-term scientific work. He comes close to destroying his family. Muhiddin Jabborovich, a conservative scientist and stern man who is a serious obstacle to Aziz Qosimov's scientific discovery, cannot stand his nephew's corrupt deeds and slaps him in the face. Such corrupt qualities in Yoldosh's character were expressed convincingly in Yo. Sa'diyev's performance. It was also characters like Yoldosh and Orinboy that made Yo. Sa'diyev known to millions of television viewers through the blue screen. After that, he played many roles in videofilms shot on Uzbek television, such as Ibn Sina in "Abu Ali Ibn Sina," Badiuzzamon in "Alisher Navoi," and Jahongir in "The Last Bullet."
Having mastered the art of acting by performing roles in theater, film, and television, Yo. Sa'diyev has also been active in directing, staging plays such as "The Night Guest," "A Wife is Better for Deception," and "Life is Behind the Door" on the theater stage.
Since 1998, Yo. Sa'diyev has been the artistic director of the "Qalqon" studio under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan. He directed the multi-part videofilm "Shaytanat" based on writer Tohir Malik's novel of the same name, and he achieved serious success in cinema by playing the role of Asadbek himself.
In 2001, the second part of the "Shaytanat" videofilm, consisting of 5 parts, was filmed under Yo. Sa'diyev's direction at the "Qalqon" studio and presented to the cultural public.
In 2008, Yo. Sa'diyev filmed a feature film based on T. Malik's work "Iblis Devori" (The Devil's Wall) and played the role of Uncle Ibrahim himself.
Yodgor Sa'diyev's productive creative work was duly rewarded. In 1989, he was awarded the Republic State Prize, and in 1998, the honorary title of "People's Artist of Uzbekistan." In 2005, he was awarded the "Mehnat Shuhrati" order.
