Yulduz Ibragimovna Usmonova (born December 12, 1963, in Margilan) is an Uzbek pop singer and composer. She is a People's Artist of Uzbekistan (1995) and Karakalpakstan (2000). She graduated from the Tashkent Conservatory (1988). She has been the lead singer of an ensemble she founded herself (since 1989). She possesses a soulful and melodic voice. She continues to make a significant contribution to national pop singing. Usmonova's creative work is distinguished by the combination of singing and acting arts, dynamism, optimism, artistic inquisitiveness, and the brightness of musical and stage tools in the interpretation of each song. She is the author (lyrics and music) of the majority of the songs in her repertoire.
By creatively applying folk melody patterns, she created energetic monologues in a patriotic spirit and unique inspirational songs based on poems by Muhammad Yusuf and others ("Hech kimga bermaymiz seni, O'zbekiston", "O'zingdan qo'ymasin, xalqim", "Elim", "O'zbegim", "Xalq yashar"). Additionally, she has skillfully performed lyrical ("Nastarin", "Olov yonar yuragimda", "Qizil olma"), satirical ("Nozanin, noziman", "Buxorodan kuyov keldi"), and lyrical-dramatic ("Onaizor", "G'iybat, bo'hton o'ldiradi", "Shoh va gado", "Otajon", "Allohim", "Muhammad Yusufga") songs, as well as a number of pop songs from foreign and brotherly peoples (including "Ya, habib" (Arabic), "Dunyo" (Turkish), "Parvardigori" (Persian)), in line with 20th-century Uzbek singing traditions.
She played the lead role in the film "Bolajon" and also appeared in many films such as "Temir erkak", "Bolajon", "Olov qa'ridagi farishta", "Tohir va Zuhra yangi talqin", "Sarvinoz", and "Muhabbat sinovlari 2". She has performed songs for the films "Temir xotin", "Oshiqlar", and "Yolg'on dunyo".
She is a laureate of several international pop competitions (Jurmala, 1989; Almaty, 1991). She was awarded the title of "Queen of Eastern Songs" (2000, Turkey). Her performances have been recorded on 3 vinyl records and over 20 compact discs. She has toured in countries across Europe, Asia, America, and North Africa.
