War veteran, Honored Cultural Worker of Uzbekistan, and soldier-poet Zohidjon Obidov has published over twenty poetry collections. We see that some poems in these collections have become songs, some have led to laughter as satire, and others have expressed the thoughts and opinions of the times and contemporaries.

Biography

Zohidjon Obidov also skillfully translated the works of famous poets into Uzbek.

Soldier-poet Zohidjon Obidov was born in Tashkent in 1923. After graduating from secondary school, he did not go to a higher education institution but headed to the front - to battle. He returned to his homeland wounded after battles on the outskirts of Leningrad. After that, he enrolled in Tashkent State University.

After graduating, he taught at the Namangan Pedagogical Institute. At the same time, he led the regional Writers' Union. After returning to Tashkent, Z. Obidov worked at the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, the "Adabiyot va San'at" (Literature and Art) publishing house named after Gafur Gulom, and the magazine "Mushtum" (The Fist).

Zohidjon Obidov passed away on August 5, 1996.

If we look deeper at the poems included in Zohidjon Obidov's collections, we see that some have become songs, some have led to laughter as satire, and others have expressed the thoughts and opinions of the times and contemporaries.

Zohidjon Obidov also skillfully translated the works of famous poets like M. Lermontov, T. Shevchenko, M. Bajan, and R. Gamzatov into Uzbek. He was a war veteran and was awarded the title of "Honored Cultural Worker of Uzbekistan".

Career


Zohidjon Obidov began his creative career as a poet in the 50s. To date, more than twenty poetry collections of the poet have been published. Including,

  • "Talpinur Dil" (Longing Heart, 1977),
